Senior Director, Product Development

What We Need

We are looking for a Senior DIrector, Product Development to join our dynamic, fast-paced team in San Francisco.

Reporting to the SVP, Global Innovation, we are seeking a Senior Director, Product Development, that will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our innovation pipeline and product platform. This role will lead our commitment to delivering products of unparalleled quality and performance to address all of our clients needs. In this critical position, you’ll help spearhead and set strategic direction for the product innovation efforts, oversee advanced concept development, consumer validation, and the overall process that delivers quality products – the strategic foundation that drives our product development initiatives.

Each day at TATCHA is different with new problems to solve and tasks to tackle, but here is an idea of some of the things you will work on:

  • Lead a collective product vision and work cross-functionally to establish insights, strategies, and product solutions with a focus on driving innovation
  • Establish a unified approach to engage and influence groups of diverse stakeholders towards an innovation-led mindset and product creation process
  • Formulate effective new ideas and strategies for process improvement across the organization. Build scalable methodology that supports organizational objectives
  • Collaborate with team members to proactively address operational issues quickly and thoughtfully
  • Contribute to product innovation roadmap strategy with executive leadership, championing critical initiatives, providing progress updates, and recommendations to drive informed decision making
  • Work as a team member to support and drive high impact projects focused on a variety of business outcomes and representing several functional disciplines
  • Provide direction and oversight into the creation and execution of go-to-market collateral to support product launch, including instructional material and consumer-facing product specification information
  • Provide direction and oversight into the development of product troubleshooting and “FAQs” to support a 5-star consumer experience post-purchase
  • Act as the product and/or category “expert” for cross-functional team member questions and concerns
  • Be called upon to take leadership of larger cross-functional “breakthroughs” that increase executive visibility and accelerate career growth.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in product development, R&D, or a related field, preferably at a premium beauty company
  • A “100% on” consumer-first perspective when it comes to introducing new products/processes or improving current products
  • Ability to effectively “manage up” by communicating your top priorities and constantly seeking feedback on your and your team’s work product
  • A mindset geared toward building relationships across multi-functional teams, coupled with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Highly-effective communication skills – both written (presentation/email) and in-person (ability to host succinct, effective conversations that solve problems and ability to make effective presentations to all levels of management, including executive leadership team)
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • A desire to learn and grow in a passionate environment
  • The ability to embrace transparency and shifting priorities while learning from each decision and focusing on the path forward 

 

The Details

The expected base salary range for this position is $190,000 to $200,000. The exact base salary is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, and budget.

This position is also eligible for participation in the company discretionary bonus plan, based on personal performance and company results.
